Old Salty’s Blog
Ahoy, humans! Old Salty here, giving you an update from Diossy Towers. My buddies at the Raw Bar have been telling me they’ve all been using the net lately (which makes a change from getting caught in one) so I thought I’d put the beer down, get my fish fingers tapping at this here keyboard and tell you the latest goings on – fresher than today’s sushi.
From what I can see, it’s been a busy summer for Steve. He’s got a few new pieces that just came out this month Shark Bus and Give and Take and Moon Dance. As usual, they’re fin-tastically fun pieces, each of them has their own story and in-jokes and you’ll be able to read Steve’s descriptions of each of them on the website soon. I know what you’re thinking and you’re absolutely right, they look great but Old Salty here’s the most handsome of all– Gill-ty as charged!
The best place to see Steve’s art is in real life and he’ll be appearing at shows all over Florida! This month, he’ll be seeing you at Oktoberfest at the Sailfish Brewery on October 12, as well as the Tampa Boat Show October 25 – 27 and finally Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 30 to November 3. You can check his schedule for meet and greets at the shows. If you read this in time, you can also head to the Coastal Conservation Association Banquet in Fort Lauderdale on October 11. Steve will be mingling there, and he’s the official artist of the event!
Steve’s been working hard to release his newest original artwork “Cereal Killer” in time for FLIBS. You can see previews of it on Instagram and Facebook. Take a look, mullet over and for serious enquiries get in touch – it’s a great oppor-tuna-ty to own an original piece. And finally… just a word to the wise; I can’t say too much but I’ll be keeping my good eye on Steve’s online store for some new shirt designs in the next couple of weeks.
As for my plans, I’m not going to be swimming too far from my chums. This net thing is fun but it doesn’t beat a drink at the Raw Bar – that place is really off the hook. If you see me there, mine’s a cold one!
