As 2020 comes to an end, I just wanted to look back on our year and also offer some hope for the future.
Our year started out so well, with boat shows in Stuart, Naples, and Englewood in January, a fantastic February at South Florida Garlic Fest, the Miami Yacht Show, Jupiter Seafood Festival and our first time at Atlantic City Boat Show (New Jersey, we will DEFINITELY be back!) Our last show of the year was the Marathon Seafood Festival in March before 2020 turned into the year that we will all remember it for.
At the start of the pandemic, there was a lot of worry about how businesses were going to fare and we were no exception. I count myself so grateful and lucky - lucky enough to have the most incredible support from people who follow and collect my art. In fall of this year, we were able to open up our authorized retail store in Pompano Beach, owned by our good friend Jeff Wolfe, as well as the official Steve Diossy Gallery in my hometown of Vero Beach. We have been overwhelmed by the support from everyone! I will be doing monthly signings at each gallery so please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on that!
Most of all, what I want to say is thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who bought anything from a decal to a limited-edition piece, and thank you to anyone who has taken the time to say how much they enjoy my art – it means the world to me. When you support me, you support so many local businesses. My art is a tribute to Florida; to the nature you can see here, and the coastal lifestyle we are blessed enough to enjoy. We also work with a lot of companies here in Florida and this allows us to offer our products at the quality we want and that represent my art in the best way possible. From canvas art, to shirts, towels, corn hole boards, lobster trap frames and so many more. All of these have to be produced to our high standards and I am very proud to support local businesses especially through such a difficult time for everyone.
2020 has been a really tough year for us all, but now we can look ahead to 2021. I am looking forward to being able to see everyone again very soon. We will be attending a limited number of shows in 2021; I am extremely excited to be heading to the West coast of Florida for the St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show in January, and also the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March.
There is light on the horizon, so please stay safe, stay healthy and let’s raise a glass to better times ahead!
Cheers and Fishful Thinking,
Steve
