Acclaimed Vero Beach Artist Brings His Signature Marine Art to Iconic St. Pete Beach Hotels

Funky fish frescos have been popping up along Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach—and they’re the vibrant work of Vero Beach’s own Steve Diossy, one of Florida’s most celebrated marine artists. Now, in an exciting new venture, Diossy has officially teamed up with Plaza Beach Resorts to launch a bold transformation of two of their properties: Bayview Plaza and Bay Palms Waterfront Resort.

🌟 A New Chapter: The Steve Diossy Marine Art Inspired Hotels

With more than 25 years as a professional artist and a flagship gallery on Vero Beach’s Ocean Drive, Steve Diossy’s work has become a staple across the U.S. boating community. His colorful, whimsical portrayals of Florida’s coastal life are instantly recognizable—and now they’re the heartbeat of an entire hotel experience.

Every one of the 26 rooms and suites at the Bayview Plaza and Bay Palms Resorts is now adorned with Diossy’s vibrant marine life artwork, offering guests a fully immersive Florida escape.

🏖️ The Collaboration: How It Came to Life

Robert Czyszczon, General Manager of Plaza Beach Resorts, first discovered Diossy’s work in Vero Beach restaurants and again at the St. Pete Boat Show in 2022. The idea of a fully themed hotel came naturally:

“Steve and his team loved the idea, and the rest is history. We are excited to welcome guests and locals to walk through the rooms and enjoy the lifelike art that Steve creates.”

The transformation of the Bayview Plaza Waterfront Resort and Bay Palms Waterfront Resort represents a blending of coastal charm, local culture, and Steve’s unmistakable creative style.

Each of the resorts’ 26 rooms and suites are decorated with the artist’s unique take on the Florida lifestyle. “Seeing the vision for the resort become a reality has been such a fun process. Robert Czyszczon, General manager of Plaza Beach Resorts, explained how the collaboration came about: “I had seen Steve’s art in restaurants and his gallery in Vero Beach in 2020, and when I saw his booth at the St. Pete Boat Show in 2022, it hit me that it would be a great theme for our hotels. Steve and his team loved the idea, and the rest is history. We are excited to welcome guests and locals to walk through the rooms and enjoy the lifelike art that Steve creates.”

At the ribbon cutting, Steve Diossy will have his art available for sale from his traveling set up. The event, which will also feature food, an open bar, raffles, room tours and complimentary tattoos, will begin at 5pm at the Bayview Plaza and go through to 8pm.
